College Captains
At the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony, we were thrilled to announce that Macey Seaman and Zac Butler had been selected as our school captains for 2025! Both students exemplify the values at our college's heart: pursuing personal excellence, fostering positive relationships, and embracing social responsibility.
Macey and Zac have consistently demonstrated dedication to their studies, involvement in school activities, and leadership among their peers. Their positive attitudes and willingness to support others make them ideal representatives of our college community.
Macey is known for her passion for academic excellence and her ability to inspire others to strive for their best. She is always encouraging collaboration and inclusion.
Zac’s approachable nature and commitment to fostering meaningful relationships have earned him the respect of students and staff alike. He has been equally committed to making a difference beyond the classroom, advocating for fundraising initiatives that benefited people in need.
As school captains, Macey and Zac will lead by example, championing the values that define our college and inspiring others to do the same.
Congratulations, Macey and Zac! We look forward to the incredible impact you will have on our school community in 2025.
Supporting Student Wellbeing Over the School Holidays
As the school holidays approach, we would like to emphasise the importance of maintaining well-being support for our students during this time. While the break provides an opportunity for rest and rejuvenation, it can also present challenges for some young people as they navigate changes in routine, social connections, and reduced access to support services.
At school, we prioritise creating a safe and supportive environment to help our students thrive, and this commitment extends into the holiday period. We encourage families to consider the following strategies to ensure continuity in wellbeing support:
Maintain Routines
Consistent routines provide structure and a sense of stability for young people. Encourage regular sleep patterns, balanced meals, and time for physical activity, even during the holidays.
Foster Open Communication
Holidays can bring unique stresses, such as changes in family dynamics or social pressures. Take time to check in with your child, listen to their concerns, and provide reassurance.
Encourage Positive Social Connections
Staying connected with friends and loved ones is essential for maintaining emotional well-being. Arrange opportunities for your child to engage with their peers through in-person meetups or online interactions.
Promote Healthy Screen Use
While screens can be a source of entertainment and connection, encourage balance by setting limits on screen time and promoting other enriching activities such as reading, arts, or outdoor activities.
Access Available Supports
If your child experiences heightened stress or challenges, know that help is available. Local community services, hotlines, and online resources can provide guidance and support throughout the holidays.
Thank you for partnering with us to foster a supportive environment for our students.
Student Services team ready to continue support in 2025
We are delighted to share that our Student Services Team will remain unchanged for 2025, ensuring continuity and stability in the vital supports available to our students. This consistency is a testament to the dedication and effectiveness of the team, which includes our chaplain, school nurse, Headspace counsellor, Program Coordinator – Student Services and school psychologist.
The Student Services Team works tirelessly to address the well-being needs of our students, offering a range of services and programs designed to foster resilience, emotional health, and academic success. Their unwavering commitment allows us to build on the incredible work done in previous years and continuously enhance the support we provide.
Central to this is The Hive, our dedicated wellbeing hub, which has now been operating for three years. Each year, The Hive has grown stronger in its capacity to meet the diverse needs of our school community. From providing a safe space for students to seek guidance on their academic, social, emotional and physical well-being to facilitating proactive mental health initiatives, The Hive has become our college's cornerstone of student support.
We are proud of the progress made in wellbeing services and look forward to seeing how the team continues to innovate and expand its reach in 2025. This consistency and ongoing improvement reflect our school’s commitment to creating an environment where every student can thrive.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to prioritise the well-being of all our students.
